TRAIL STEINBEISSER RAIN JACKET

When designing a super-light (230 g), protective rain jacket for all-mountain rides, we were initially inspired by our street jackets, especially the “Schloss Tex” fabric. This tried and tested three-layer, waterproof softshell is durable and extremely breathable, making it the ideal starting point for the design of our water-repellent shell.

The next step was to design the jacket in the shape of our trailFit, which is snug enough not to get caught in twigs on the singletrack, yet is loose enough to allow your upper body ample freedom of movement. If you are upright, you will feel a slight pull on your chest and the sleeves will appear long. However, grab the wide handle of a modern all mountain bike and lean forward and you will feel the jacket take on the perfect fit.

We then matched the individual features of the jacket to off-road driving, such as the hem of the extended back section, which protects your back from splashing water and mud, the extended sleeves with flexible fabric inserts that ensure a seamless transition with the gloves, and our unique design of a hood that can be worn under the helmet, which with the addition of a stretchy NEOS Light fabric insert keeps your head dry and your view clear. Add to this fully taped seams, closable front pockets and a 2-way zip, and the result is a waterproof shell for all kinds of adventures where rain is the order of the day.
