To create bib shorts that would perform at their best, we had to rethink the concept as a whole and eliminate the components that did not contribute to our primary goal. Our primary goal was to achieve the as yet unattained level at which speed and absolute comfort become one. Mission accomplished. May I introduce to you? The Equipe RSR bib shorts S9. 

In the toughest racing environments, we've found that even the most advanced stakes are only as good as the frame that supports them. Think of the wear and tear that a pair of WorldTour rider's shorts undergo on a day-to-day basis: aggressive cornering, abrupt changes between different road surfaces, constant alternations between sitting and standing, and hours spent repositioning themselves adapt. All of this affects the design of the shorts and the way the built-in insert works, and ultimately the comfort they can provide you with. 

So that we can effectively minimize these influences without adding additional weight, we first looked at the material itself for this RSR project. We thought that we would be on the right track if we created a new material that would have the perfect blend of compressive support, durability, soft material and the lowest weight. Our brand new Type.701 compressor material, the successor to the highly acclaimed S7 Campionissimo compressor material, is exactly that: a complex woven material that impresses in all areas. It consists of incredibly thin yarn with enormous elasticity, in a weave that is almost free from friction and thus offers you excellent comfort while the muscles are optimally supported. In other words: the Type.701 material becomes your second skin and offers you outstanding support, air exchange and a silky-soft feel along the lumbar spine and thighs. 

The material is responsible for the first phase of A-Lock engineering, our new stabilizing system consisting of new process technologies that simultaneously stabilize the shorts and keep the insert in place. The pattern was next on our list. While the S7 generation was created with four inserts, only two inserts come into play in the S9 generation: the primary "butterfly insert", which completely flatters the legs and converges on the back to our new ergoBox structure. The design effectively prevents the insert from slipping and offers you an incredibly comfortable model that, in combination with the Type.701 material, achieves the best clickFit we have ever developed. You will find that we did not use the rollBar that we used in the RS version in this model, so we were able to save a little more weight and concentrate entirely on the material's hold-up properties Additionally stabilize the shorts. The straps have also been redesigned using calibrated stretch, while the back has been given a single section of elastic material that is folded over itself to form an A-shape on the back. To ensure a higher degree of stability, it offers a short, vertical stretch. A more flexible material was used on the front for production, which impresses with an antibacterial carbon fabric and in this way dissipates moisture and lies flat. 

We focused on a single, race-based concept that has developed from our proven Equipe Evo and gives us the freedom to think again about what is most important when it comes to optimized use for racing. We reduced the general footprint in order to save additional weight and then implemented the superAir microShock foam with 3D waffle and our kraterCooler system to increase air exchange and have also taken other measures, the use on the back with our patented to fix horizontal stabilizer. The result? Absolute ASSOS comfort that you have come to know and love, even more stabilized than ever before.
